Clinical Experience (to be gained during program)

Students will attend rounds, procedures in hospital, and on zoo grounds. Students will gain knowledge and experience in diagnosis and treatment of a diverse zoological collection. This will include hematology / cytology, anesthesia, radiology, pathology, internal medicine and surgery.

Responsibilities

Students will have the opportunity to participate in many aspects of veterinary care at the Denver Zoo. This may include physical examination and triage, diagnostics, treatments, pathology, medical records, and animal care of the animal collection.

TB Tests/Vaccinations

If selected, student will need to provide documentation of a negative TB test within 6 months of start date, Tetanus vaccination within 7 yrs, current Rabies vaccination/titer.
