Position (of contact): SE Raptor Center Veterinarian, Clinical asst. Prof of Zoo Medicine at Auburn University
Clinical Experience (to be gained during program): All aspects of raptor rehabilitation and case management including initial triage, sampling, diagnosis/diagnostics including radiography, clinical pathology, medical management, anesthesia, surgery and necropsy. The preceptee will be encouraged to prepare a project culminating in publication, and to assist with ingoing research at the raptor center. Preceptors will also have the opportunity to attend small exotic animal cases on clinical rotation.
Research: Serosurvey, basic physiology, infectious disease primary discovery and elucidation.
Allied Institutions: Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine
Responsibilities: Raptor triage, diagnosis, case management, rehabilitation and care.
Duration: 2-8 weeks
