Internship in Zoological Medicine: The Tulsa Zoo and Living Museum, is seeking applicants for a one year internship in Zoological Animal Medicine to commence July 1, 2010. Intern will work with the zoo veterinarian and staff in areas of clinical medicine, and disease prevention programs. Possibility for collaboration with OSU College of Veterinary Medicine and OKCZOO exists. Successful completion of the internship is intended to improve clinical competency and facilitate entry into zoological medicine residency training and post DVM graduate programs.
Salary is $25,000/year. A DVM degree or its equivalent and a passing score on the NAVLE are required. Applicants with at least one-year practice or internship experience will be given preference over new graduates. Eligibility for private licensure in the state of Oklahoma is required. Oklahoma licensure expense is the responsibility of the intern and licensure must be obtained before duties of the position can be assumed.
