Dr. Horace E. Walcott received the Siemens Founders Award
Dr. Horace E. Walcott received the Siemens Founders Award for Excellent mentoring of the future leaders of Science, Mathematics and Technology. He also received the Siemens STARS Award, which was announced in the May 11, 2011 edition of USA Today. The STARS Award included an all expense paid research fellowship at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory. Horace is currently completing a career development fellowship funded by the National Science Foundation at NYU-Poly. In the Dynamic Systems Laboratory of Dr. Maurizio Porfiri, Dr. Walcott is conducting studies in bio-mimetics and bio-mechanics. His research has been focused on the development and testing of a biomechanical Thresher shark tail.
