Program Description:

A three year training position is available in the Department of Pathobiology at the Ontario Veterinary College, University of Guelph starting summer or fall 2013. The program is designed to meet the needs of individuals wishing research experience and seeking discipline training in the clinical medicine and diseases of pet birds and exotic pets, primarily ferrets and rabbits, with smaller numbers of other small mammals and reptiles. The program will include applied training in clinical areas through the Avian/Exotic Service of the Ontario Veterinary College Health Sciences Centre, and in clinical and morphologic pathology in the Department of Pathobiology. The program requires a general qualifying examination and defense of a thesis. Applicants must possess a DVM or equivalent qualification and meet the academic admission standards for the Department of Pathobiology (http://www.ovc.uoguelph.ca/path/graduate/dvsc). Selection of the successful applicant will be based on their academic ability, relevant interest and experience, and the referees= evaluations. The closing date for this position is 15 March 2013 or until a suitable applicant is found.
