Wild Animal Health Fund

One Goal ...

The Wild Animal Health Fund has one goal to optimize the health, welfare and conservation of zoo animals and wildlife through critical research and studies.

Conservation is important

But who is helping wild animals that are sick, injured or even dying? The Wild Animal Health Fund focuses on the animals themselves - everything from tiny tree frogs to humpback whales.

Making Discoveries

Every zoo and wildlife veterinarian has experienced the awful feeling that comes with not knowing the best way to cure an infection, treat an illness or disease, or soothe an animal in distress. Discoveries that come from research help minimize those experiences and advance animal health, welfare and conservation efforts in zoos and in the wild.

Endangered Species

Conservation efforts are making so much progress, we can't afford to lose animals to health issues. Because access to large numbers of individuals that are endangered is not attainable, studies of surrogate species need to be performed to protect, preserve and save endangered species
