|Roger Brannian Memoriam|
It is our deepest sorrow to inform the AAZV membership of the passing of Roger Brannian.
Roger Brannian, DVM died on February 3, 2017 of Multiple System Atrophy (MSA). Roger was born near Brooklyn, Iowa in 1947 and grew up on the family farm. He received his DVM from Iowa State University in 1972. He later earned a MS in Zoological and Wildlife Medicine from the University of Minnesota. He was the staff veterinarian at the Kansas City Zoo from 1979 to 1991. Roger left the zoo field in 1991 to do residency training in pathology at Texas A&M and UW-Madison. During the last twenty plus years of his career, he worked as a pathologist, most recently for the USDA in Ames, IA. Roger was a Diplomate Emeritus of the American College of Zoological Medicine and a member of AAZV.
Congratulations to Allison Tuttle. Allison was recently elected to the AZA Ethics Board. Three new members are elected each year. The Ethics Board upholds the integrity and professional standards of the AZA and its institutional and individual members by implementing the process defined by the code in a fair, objective, consistent and professional manner.
