|Marty Dinnes Memoriam|
We regret to inform you that long time AAZV member Martin R. "Marty" Dinnes passed away peacefully at his ranch in Agua Dulce, California on 12 December 2017. Marty graduated from the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine in 1966. He was a resident veterinarian at Africa USA until 1968 and an individual practitioner until 1972, at which time the Dinnes Memorial Veterinary Hospital (DMVH) was established. Marty was one of the early pioneers of modern day exotic animal medicine, and his contributions are many. He contributed to the development of the Telinject system and founded Telinject USA. He was one of the eight Charter Members of the American College of Zoological Medicine. In 2000, Marty was awarded the Alumni Achievement Award at the University of California, Davis. He was awarded AAZV’s Lifetime Achievement Award the first year the award was given in 2014.
